Pottymouth Girl is one of the better-quality bootlegs that were released during the 90s.
The first 15 tracks are the same show that can be found on Clean As A Whistle, with Liz performing with Brad Wood, Leroy Bach, and Casey Rice—although the sound quality is a bit better here.
As is typically seen in releases like this, the actual disc is titled “Party Mouth” vs “Pottymouth.”
The last several songs were taken from Liz’s solo 1995 tour when she was promoting Whip-Smart. What’s unique about this set of songs is that Liz can be heard performing “May Queen” and “Jealousy”—two songs that don’t often make appearances in her live shows.
Also rare is her performances of “Sometimes A Dream” and “See the Light”. The former is from the Girly-Sound recordings (officially titled “Slave”) while the latter is a song that has never officially made it to an official release.
Tracks 1-15 were recorded at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, California on December 1, 1993.
Tracks 16-22 were recorded at the Aladdin Theater in Portland, Oregon on April 8, 1995. The back cover has this portion of the show erroneously listed as being recorded live at La Luna in Portland Oregon on April 11, 1995.
“Dream” is also known as “Sometimes A Dream (Is What Makes You A Slave),” though “Slave” is the title that was eventually used when Girly-Sound to Guyville was released.
“See the Light” is also known as “Beginning to See the Light” — a rare track that Liz has yet to officially record; it’s only surfaced during this era of shows and during a radio show.
