Dark Light

Part of a compilation series released that began in 2010 by Universal Music Enterprises, Icon is a title given to each compilation focusing on a single artist. In 2014, they released a compilation focusing on Liz Phair, since Universal Music Group (UMG) absorbed Capitol Records in 2013.

There’s nothing particularly noteworthy about this set other than serving as sort of a “greatest hits” for Phair, as it focused mostly on her single releases.

Still, as far as compilations go, it does serve as a nice collection of Phair’s career through 2005, as it features selections from three tracks from Exile in Guyville, two from Whip-Smart, a single track from whitechocolatespaceegg, her two singles from Liz Phair, and three from Somebody’s Miracle.

The compilation was originally only available in Best Buy retail locations in the US. It’s now out of print and only available through third-party outlets.
